A range of assistive equipment is available for users in the University libraries and IT rooms.

Video Magnifiers
Video Magnifiers allow simple magnification of any kind of material, for the purposes of both reading and writing. You can alter the size and colour of the text and background to suit your needs.
MagniLink
MagniLink can be used to magnify text. It is available in the Nursing and Healthcare Studies Library.
Alternative keyboards
The following alternative keyboards can be made available for use in any of the University libraries. Please ask in advance if you would like to use an alternative keyboard.
- Compact keyboard and guard
- Keyboard stickers
- Keyboards with large keys or covers
- Left-handed keyboards
Gel wrist rests and mats for both keyboards and mouse devices are available in all libraries and IT rooms on request.
Alternative mice
The following alternative mice can be made available for use in any of the University libraries. Please ask in advance if you would like to use an alternative mouse.
- Trackball mouse
- Joysticks
- Quill mouse
- Ergonomic mouse
Gel wrist rests and mats for both keyboards and mouse devices are available in all libraries and IT rooms on request.
Furniture
The following furniture can be provided for use in the University libraries and IT rooms. Please ask in advance if you would like to use any of this equipment.
- Lap tables
- Foot rests
- Ergonomic extendable monitor arms
- Electronically 100 x 80, 120 x 80, and 160 x 80 height adjustable desks
- Ergonomic and extendable chairs with arm and neck rests

Scanners are available at in all libraries and some IT rooms.
Digital Voice Recorders
Digital Voice Recorders can be borrowed from a number of libraries. Just search for 'Digital Voice Recorders' on the Library Catalogue to find your closest library that stocks this equipment.
