Please check these pages regularly as they will be continually updated with more comprehensive help and advice regarding Pool Room Support.
Training
Details of future training sessions will be posted here. Please check back regularly for updates.
The training sessions are open to all departments. Members of the Pool Room Support Team will be on hand to demonstrate audio visual facilities, answer questions and provide assistance where required to users of the shared lecture theatres.
Items covered will include:
- Operation of the touchscreen controls
- Use of Computer and Projector
- Use of Sympodium and Visualiers (where available)
- The local login facility
- Laptop connection
- Contact procedures and fault reporting
Sympodium and Smart Boards
Several pool rooms have been upgraded to include sympodium monitors and smart board software. The drop-in sessions will cover the basic functions of this teaching aid. A more in-depth introduction to this technology is available from the Media Resources Centre . Please contact Sue Crosby (crosbysm@cardiff.ac.uk) for further details.
Advice
If you have not used a pool room before, or have not used one for some time, please check with pool room support to see if anything has been upgraded and arrange for a refresher session so that you are familiar with the equipment.
We are happy to make arrangements for one of our AV technicians to meet you at a suitable time during the day to offer one to one instruction on the operation of audio visual equipment. Alternatively, we are happy to provide training to groups of staff if requested.
See the list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for answers to common queries in using the pool room equipment.
