Microsoft Word: Creating and Updating Everyday Documents
This introductory course provides easy to follow step by step lessons enabling you to quickly and efficiently learn and use the core features of Microsoft Word.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
- create and save a document using Microsoft Word
- use formatting to enhance your documents
- change the layout of document pages
- use automated tools to help you create and format your documents
- insert images and pictures to documents
- use and edit simple tables of information
- print out whole, and parts of, documents
For anyone looking to obtain IT certification, additional content is provided in the course training materials to correspond to the objectives specified for the Microsoft Office Specialist: Using Microsoft Office Word certification. Additional study and practice in the use of Microsoft Word is required before taking this certification exam.
The topics taught also closely match to the elements of the syllabus for ECDL Module 3 (Word-processing) but again additional study and practice is recommended before taking this certification exam.
Prerequisites
No experience of Word is required to attend this course, however it would be beneficial to familiarise your self with the keyboard and the use of windows.
Course Duration
2 x half-day (3 hours) sessions - length of course 6 hours.
Cost
£95 for members of staff and students of Cardiff University.
£125 for non-profit making organisations, e.g. other universities, charities, and government bodies, including Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.
£150 for commercial organisations (profit-making) wishing to book anyone onto this course.
