insrvEducation IT Training
Information Services offers a scheduled programme of IT training courses through the insrvEducation brand. Our courses, generally taught in an instructor-led classroom environment providing structured hands-on training, are designed to enable you to make best use of centrally provided facilities and software applications with content for both beginner and more advanced users.
Please note that we have revised the content of our Microsoft Office application courses and will now be offering these through the Office 2010 interface that is available for staff to update on Windows XP image computers as well as through the Windows 7 image that is also now available. Open access PCs provided around campus have been updated to this version so students will have access to this version as well when using the facilities we provide here at Cardiff University. If you haven't updated then don't panic as the interface is extremely similar and all courses will also be applicable to users of the Microsoft Office 2007 interface. There are reasons why some staff shouldn't update to the Office 2010 interface yet so please check with your local support technicians about what version you should have on office computers.
Our current course schedule and availability of places on forthcoming courses can be checked online and if you would like to book onto any of our courses please send a message to insrvEducation@cf.ac.uk with the following details ...
- your Cardiff University username
- a daytime contact number
- details of the course(s) you wish to book onto
On receipt of your booking we will contact you by email to confirm your request with details of how to make the appropriate payment to cover the cost of attending the course, or courses, you have booked onto. Where your school or division is covering this cost we accept internal trade payments via the Oracle finance system but we can also accept cash, cheque and credit card payments if you are paying for your own course booking.
We accept requests to attend our courses from contacts outside of the university. For external customers we require a purchase order for us to invoice against when accepting bookings from another academic institution, commercial or not-for-profit organisation. Please check the course outlines as we cannot accept external customers on all our courses and where we do attendance is charged as indicated.
