Statistics and datasets for Sociology and Social Policy
A one stop gateway to the ESRC datasets from the 1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001 UK census. To access many of the datasets, registration is required. You may also need to login using your Cardiff University username and password. 2001 aggregate census is also available from InFuse. 2011 census data will be available on the Office of National Statistics web site as it is released. It will be available from InFuse from March 2013.

Social Trends draws together social and economic data from a wide range of government departments and other organisations; it paints a broad picture of UK society today, and how it has been changing.
Regional Trends (1965-)
Regional Trends is a comprehensive regular source of official statistics for the Statistical Regions of the UK (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Government Office Regions within England). It includes a wide range of demographic, social, industrial and economic statistics, covering aspects of life in the regions.
Health and Personal Social Services Statistics for England (1972-2004)
This annual publication covers hospitals, personal social services such as residential care and child protection, the NHS workforce and expenditure, and the nation's health.

This annual publication compiled by the Welsh Office covers all aspects of housing in Wales, including homelessness figures.
Council of European Social Science Data Archives allows you to search across the archives of social sciences research in France, Denmark, UK, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, Finland, Estonia and Spain.
MIMAS offers access to major datasets which includes census data, and large survey data such as the Family Expenditure Survey, Family Resources Survey and General Household Survey.
