Department of Health
This site is published by the Department of Health. There is access to DH publications, some of which are full text. Current and archived press releases are available from these pages. There are also specific links to Public Health and Social Care DoH documents. Other useful links include current DH research and development information, and NHS Executive information.

National Assembly for Wales
General information about the Assembly. The Health of Wales Information Services (HOWIS) has been developed as a portal to information on health and healthcare. Plans, documents and other information on health services in Wales are accessible via the Assembly's Health and Social Care Publications area.

NHS Wales
This is the official gateway to NHS Wales organisations on the internet. It contains information about the structure of the NHS in Wales, news, and key publications. This site also allows NHS Trust staff to access databases such as Medline at home (passwords available at any library service counter).

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) issues guidance on health technologies (including medicines, medical devices, diagnostic techniques and procedures) and the clinical management of specific conditions.

Office for National Statistics
This site allows you to search the latest comprehensive range of official UK statistics and information about statistics as well as providing free access to a selection of recently released publications and press releases in downloadable format.

World Health Organisation
This site is produced by the World Health Organization (WHO). There is coverage of the latest WHO news including press releases, statistical information, the Director General's speeches and information materials produced by the WHO. There are links to pages covering communicable and non-communicable diseases, reproductive health general health policies, and chemical safety. This comprehensive site gives access to the WHO library and United Nation's web sites such as UNAIDS.

General Medical Council
The medical regulatory body, which is also responsible for postgraduate medical education and training in the UK.
