Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts provides references and summaries of articles covering:

It is updated daily and coverage is from 1987. ASSIA currently contains over 375,000 records from over 500 journals published in 16 different countries, including the UK and US.

Genesis
Genesis: promoting UK sources of Women's History
Originally launched in 2002 to support research into women's history and promote sources within the UK. Genesis comprises a database with descriptions of women's history collections from museums, libraries and archives in the United Kingdom plus a Guide to Sources that provides access to a wide range of national and international web resources on women's history. The Guide to Sources has been extensively updated and expanded, and the overall site continues to be maintained and developed by The Women's Library.

International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS)
Indexes material on economics, sociology, politics and anthropology. Produced by the London School of Economics and Political Science, IBSS includes over 2.5 million references to journal articles, books, reviews and selected chapters dating back to 1951

JSTOR
An archive of electronic journals which currently provides access to more than 200 scholarly titles in over 20 disciplines in the Arts and Sciences. Journals are archived, where possible, back to the first issue, though the most recent years are excluded.
The whole database can be searched by keyword and author, and the articles retrieved can be downloaded and printed.

MLA Bibliography
The Modern Language Association International Bibliography (MLAIB) indexes scholarly publications on literature, language, linguistics, and folklore in over 4,000 journals and series as well as in monographs, multi-author works and dissertations. MLAIB dates back to 1925.

NRS sets out to provide regular estimates of the number and nature of the people who read Britain's newspapers and consumer magazines by sex, age, regionality and many other demographic and lifestyle characteristics.
Newsbank
Contains thousands of full-text articles from more than 20 Welsh and over 350 U.K. daily and weekly newspapers. Includes the North Wales edition of the Daily Post , the Western Mail , The South Wales Evening Post , The Times from 1985 forward, Economist , Financial Times , The Guardian and The Scotsman . Daily updates ensure current news, and archived articles can be used to track subjects historically. Both English and Welsh-language versions of the interface are provided.

A comprehensive newspaper database, updated daily, providing full text access to all UK national newspapers, plus regional newspapers, international news providers and a number of trade journals and magazines. Most titles have a twenty year archive. UK newspaper titles include:

The database also includes company data. Annual Reports are available for UK quoted companies as well as selected European, Asian and US companies. Financial information is provided by Extel Cards and Worldscope and the Directory of Directors provides details of 45,700 directors of UK Companies. Please be aware that this resource will only run on a Windows PC.

Covers over 8,500 scholarly research journals, including author abstracts, from 1981 to the present. Searchable by keyword or by works that have been cited by other publications.
Also includes the ISI Journal Citation Reports for the Sciences and Social Sciences. To access the Reports, login to Web of Knowledge and select the ISI Journal Citation Reports option from the home page. These provide easy access to data so scholarly journals can be compared. Categories include highest impact and most frequently cited journals.
