Trevithick Library's 'Stiwdio Halcrow Studio' launched

7 January 2011

Halcrow launch at Trevithick Library.

Trevithick Library's 'Stiwdio Halcrow Studio', launched at the beginning of 2010, further develops the variety of study spaces available in the library following its renovation in 2009.

The new studio provides quiet working space for the Trevithick Library's users from the Schools of Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, Computer Science and Informatics.

The studio project, sponsored by Halcrow (one of the UK's leading planning, design and management services consultancies), was managed by Cardiff University Engineering Graduate, Nariba Gittens. Nariba, who studied in Trevithick Library whilst she was a Cardiff University student, said: "I am so pleased that the University has listened to the students and created this wonderful space which promotes productivity. I hope the students appreciate this impressive library which I am sure can meet all of their study requirements."

The library's new state-of-the-art learning facility includes sponsored areas from top engineering companies including Arup, Mott MacDonald, Renishaw and Corus, as well as Halcrow.
