Academic and Research Staff

Please find attached to this page the 11 National Library of Academic Role Profiles (NLARPs) that were created nationally but contextualised locally in order to assimilated academic staff over to the new pay and grading structure as part of the National Framework Agreement project at Cardiff University.

What are National Library of Academic Role Profiles (NLARPs)?

The NLARPs cover academic staff with of three categories (Research, Teaching and Scholarship and a balance of Teaching and Research) over five levels. This creates a rank order that can be transferred against the pay and grading structure.

The profiles are indicative, not definite, and are intended to describe the demands and responsibilities required of most members of academic staff employed by UK Higher Education Institutions.
