Writing for the Public

This workshop will give you all the tools - and advice from the experts - to enable you to communicate your research and expertise via a range of digital and print media to as wide an audience as possible through the written word. It will cover blogs, newspaper articles and magazine pieces and specifically ‘The Conversation’ which is an independent source of news and views, sourced from the academic and research community and delivered directly to the public.

The session will:

  • will frame the benefits of such activity;
  • provide expert advice from editors and academics engaged in writing for the public;
  • highlight ways to share research findings and expertise as effectively as possible.
