Technical and Research Skills: Techniques
Sustainability Science Summer School
2014 marks the second year of The Sustainable Places Research Institute Sustainability Science Summer School. The Summer School, a joint venture with the University Graduate College, provides a unique and high quality research training forum for interdisciplinary doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in the field of sustainability science and place-making.
Providing early career researchers with exposure to high quality research being conducted on sustainability from across the sciences, the course offers the opportunity to learn from research experience and practices and to share common experiences in both research and academic writing, which can lead to high quality outputs and dissemination outlets. It aims to serve a wide range of student interests and career plans not just those that consider themselves to be working in the field of sustainability.
We hope that the week will also provide an interdisciplinary forum for researchers to exchange ideas and discuss the opportunities and challenges to achieving a more joined-up approach to improving the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of society, and how to develop a more integrated approach to stakeholder engagement.
