Recognition of Service 2013

Between 1st October 2012 and 30th September 2013, 7 members of staff reached 40 years and 42 members of staff reached 25 years of continuous service at Cardiff University.  Cumulatively this group of staff has dedicated an amazing 1330 years of service to the University.

Their achievements were celebrated at two events, the first on 10th October 2013 for staff from the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, and the second on 7th November 2013 for staff from Professional Services and the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering.

Each occasion began with a drinks reception in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms, where the music of harpist Anna Stevenson, a student in the School of Music, was enjoyed.

The Awards Ceremonies then took place in the Glamorgan Council Chamber, beginning with a welcome to awardees and their guests by Vice Chancellor Professor Colin Riordan.  Awardees were then individually congratulated and presented with their certificates.

The celebrations culminated back in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms with a seated buffet and the cutting of the cakes.  Congratulatory gifts and cards were issued. More pictures of these happy occasions and the commemorative brochures for each event can be seen by following the links on the right of this page.

Congratulations to all the awardees on your achievement of 25 or 40 years service at Cardiff University!
