Recognition of Service 2012

On 30th November 2012, the contributions of 35 members of staff who had attained 25 or 40 years of continuous service at Cardiff University were recognised and celebrated.  Cumulatively this group of staff has dedicated an amazing 1,016 years of service to the University.

The celebratory event began with a drinks reception in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms, where the music of harpist Anna Stevenson, a student in the School of Music, was enjoyed.

The Awards Ceremony took place in the Glamorgan Council Chamber, beginning with a welcome to awardees and their guests by Pro-Vice Chancellor for Staff and Diversity, Professor Terry Threadgold.  Awardees were then congratulated and presented with their certificates by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Colin Riordan.

The celebrations culminated back in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms with a seated buffet, the cutting of the cakes, and collection of gifts.
