Recognition of Service 2011
The 2011 Recognition of Service event took place on Friday 25th November in the Glamorgan Building celebrating the achievements of staff who had attained 25 or 40 years of service between 1st October 2010 and 30th September 2011. 38 awardees were recognised this year, 33 of whom had achieved 25 years service; 3 of whom had achieved 40 years service, and 2 awardees who had achieved over 30 years service. The group of staff celebrated at this event have cumulatively dedicated 1,013 years of service to Cardiff University.
The celebratory event began with a drinks reception in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms, which was accompanied by harpist Jessica Dalwood, a student in the School of Music. Awardees then moved into the Glamorgan Council Chamber where they were welcomed by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Staff & Diversity, Professor Terry Threadgold. The members of staff were congratulated and presented with their certificates by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Elizabeth Treasure. After the award ceremony, a seated buffet was held in the Glamorgan Committee Rooms.
