Excellence in Teaching (including Training and Development)

Award Criteria

This award recognises the breadth and diversity of teaching, training and development within Cardiff University.  Supervision of postgraduate students is also included. 

The criteria include:

  • Individual excellence, which would require evidence of promoting and transforming the student learning experience, stimulating and inspiring learning;
  • Enhancing staff development;
  • Raising the profile of excellence;
  • Developing excellence; nominee’s commitment to staff or student  ongoing development.

For staff engaged in teaching, this award provides a clear link to the National Teaching fellowship Scheme (NTFS).  More information about this can be found using the link on the right of this page.
