Graphical
and Digital services
Cardiff Archaeology and Conservation offer a full range of graphic
and digital services.
Our services have over five years experience in graphic design and
layout for posters, leaflets, flyers, letterheads and DTP (book
layout). We are especially experienced in prepress work for archaeological,
historic and other academic and professional publishers such as
Routledge, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press,
and Oxbow.
Other specialisms include archaeological illustration and reconstructions,
especially digitising maps and plans and using the latest digital
software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop CS and In-Design.
We have a dedicated lab for digital graphic work. Using a Hewlett-Packard
Designjet 5500ps printer, we can offer full colour large-format
printing on Photogloss paper, film or heavy-weight paper and we
can print posters from A4 (210 x 297 mm or 8.27 x 11.69 inches)
to A0 (841 x 1189 mm or 33.11 x 46.81 inches).
Our Chroma Tx 40 Plus scanner allows us to do large format scanning
(up to 1m wide and up to 5m in length and beyond). This scanner
is ideal for archiving site-plans and other unusually large records
and documents. Our fully equipped lab makes it possible for us to
print these large originals on to film or to save digital files
for us to work on imagery with a range of photographic, graphics
and illustration software.
