Jonathon Porritt delivers the 2009 Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture

Jonathon Porritt, Founder Director of Forum for the Future, delivered the second Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture to a capacity audience on Monday 16 November 2009 at the Julian Hodge Lecture Theatre.

The lecture was the opening event of the University’s first Sustainability Week, a range of activities designed to promote sustainable principles and encourage University staff and students to live and work in a more sustainable way.

An eminent writer, broadcaster and commentator on sustainable development, Jonathon’s lecture was entitled “What it means to live in a low-carbon economy.” During an engaging and lively lecture, Jonathon spoke about the need for people to take on a sense of personal responsibility if we are to get anywhere near success in tackling climate change.
