Information for Guests
Cardiff University graduation ceremonies are proud and happy occasions for the family and friends of those graduating. The information below should answer any questions you may have regarding the ceremony itself.
You are advised that you are guaranteed a maximum of 2 guest tickets for your family or friends who wish to attend the Graduation ceremony. We recognise that limiting guest tickets to 2 per graduate may cause some disappointment, but you will appreciate that the seating capacity of St David's Hall is limited. Please do not make expensive travel arrangements for guests who do not have tickets as we will not be able to accommodate them. Guests from overseas
If you have an overseas home address, your tickets are held at the Queries desk on the second level of St David's Hall for you to collect on the day of your ceremony.
There are no parking facilities at St David's Hall itself. However, there are a number of city centre car parks located close to the Students’ Union and to St David’s Hall. We recommend that graduates and guests who are parking in the city centre allow sufficient time to find a parking space.

A printed programme will be available at St David's Hall, free of charge, to all graduates and their guests.
Guests will be advised when they can take their seats (approximately half an hour before the start of the ceremony).
Use of video cameras
There are no restrictions to the use of video cameras outside the auditorium. However, video cameras should not be used whilst the ceremony is in progress. Your guests are expected to remain seated once the actual ceremony commences.
Roving cameras create an unwelcome distraction to other guests. Please remember that you will be among some 500 students graduating in your ceremony. Your co-operation and consideration for others will be very much appreciated.
A webcast of the ceremony will be available on this website after the event. You may also order photos, and a DVD of the ceremony. It is highly recommended that photos are ordered in advance via the Ede and Ravenscroft website http://www.gownhire.co.uk or by phoning +44 (0) 1223 861854.
For people with disabilities
Should graduates or their guests have specific access requirements, or have any other needs that we could assist with, please contact the Graduation Team prior to the ceremony, contact details below. A passenger lift to Level 3 in St David’s Hall is available if required. Guests using wheelchairs will be accommodated on Level 3.
We do not recommend that children are taken to the ceremony, due to the length and formal nature of proceedings.
Any child over the age of two will also require a separate guest ticket to attend.
