Cardiff University’s Institutional Archives
About the Archive
Cardiff University’s Institutional Archive is an integral part of the University Records Management Strategy delivered by the Governance & Compliance Division. The Archive is directly managed by the University’s Records Manager.
Cardiff University’s Institutional Archive has a long term aim to meet the National Archives' Standards for Record Repositories and Archives.
What we do
Cardiff University’s Institutional Archive collects selected records created by or relating to Cardiff University and its predecessor bodies in order to permanently preserve and make accessible the University’s corporate memory.
About the collections
The Institutional Archives’ collections include records from Cardiff University and its predecessor bodies – University College, Cardiff (formerly University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire); University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology; and University of Wales College of Medicine.
The collections include letter books, photographs, newspaper cuttings, deeds, charters, minute books, plans, accounts, files and official publications such as prospectuses and programmes.
