Draft Policy and Procedures for Supporting Gender Reassignment

Cardiff University celebrates and values the diversity of its University community including its staff and students. We are committed to treating all employees and students with dignity and respect, and seek to provide a positive working and learning environment free from discrimination, harassment or victimisation.

Cardiff University is committed to providing a supportive environment for trans staff and students and for staff and students undergoing gender reassignment, ensuring that  we meet their specific needs. Trans is an inclusive term describing all those whose gender expression falls outside the typical gender norms; including those who live continuously outside gender norms, sometimes with, and sometimes without, medical intervention (definition from GIRES).

A copy of our Draft Policy and Procedures for Supporting Gender Reassignment and Equality for Trans Students and Staff is found on the right hand side of this page. We would welcome your input and feedback on this draft Policy and Procedures. Please provide any feedback or queries to Catrin Morgan, Equality & Diversity manager (GOVRN) by 21st December 2012, via e-mail: Morganca5@cardiff.ac.uk or telephone: 02920870230.
