Subject Access Request Procedure

To see a copy of your own personal data held by the University, you will need to submit a written request to the Information Rights Officer (Inforequest@Cardiff.ac.uk), enclosing proof of identify, such as staff or student ID card, or copy of driving licence or passport together with the standard fee of £10 (cheque made payable to Cardiff University).

You are encouraged to complete the Subject Access Request Form (available for downloading) to assist the University in accurately identifying the location(s) of the personal data. A £10 fee is the standard charge for a Subject Access Request. The University has 40 days to respond to your request once it has received all the relevant information and the standard £10 fee.

Please note that in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, access may not be granted to personal data held for the purposes of employment, e.g. personnel/human resources records, where these are held in unstructured or semi-structured manual format only.
