- University Car Parking
The University has adopted an official bike strategy for cyclists which will look into larger and more visible bike racks, better signing of routes, more drying rooms for wet clothing and a map of bike user’s facilities around campus. For more information on cycling to work, please visit the cycling website, or contact the Bicycle Users Group at CUBUG@cardiff.ac.uk for further information.
Lift share scheme
Cardiff University operates a lift share scheme which all members of staff are able to join without any charge. The lift share matching service puts people travelling in the same direction or a similar destination in contact with you, allowing you to arrange to travel together and share the costs, whilst also reducing congestion and pollution on our roads and reducing parking problems.
NCP, Dumfries Place
University staff are entitled to reduced rates for NCP car parking in Dumfries Place when signing up for a contracted period. Staff are provided with a key card that gives full access to the site. For more information on joining the scheme please contact Mrs Tammy Turnock on 07801 916390, (Tammy.Turnock@ncp.co.uk), or visit the car park office at the NCP Dumfries Place car park. A current valid University ID card is a required to take advantage of this offer.
Parking in Cardiff
Many of the streets surrounding the University Building operate a pay and display parking system. The pay and display machines accept either cash or cards. For more information on parking in the city centre, please visit Cardiff County Council’s website.
Purchasing tickets for public transport weekly, monthly, three-monthly, annually, or to correspond with school term times entitles you to reduced rates. Arriva Trains Wales now offer an online Season Ticket service which enables you to retrieve online quotes, order tickets online, arrange for tickets to be delivered to your door and offers a replacement service if your train ticket is lost or stolen. Visit Cardiff Bus or Arriva Trains Wales websites for further information on ticket prices and travel information.
Cardiff Bus operates a frequent service between the Cathays Campus and the Heath Site. Please click here to view a weekly timetable. The buses that operate between the Heath Site and the City Centre are the numbers 8, 9 and 9a.
Please visit this site for information on travel, subsistence and hospitality, and to download the appropriate forms.
University Car Parking
Parking within the city centre can be difficult and expensive. As a large city centre employer, the University has invested in approximately 1400 University owned, or controlled, car parking spaces. If you would like to apply for a parking permit, or join a waiting list, you can do so by downloading and completing the relevant application form from the website, or by contacting Donna Stevens on x79092 or email@example.com
