The information below will provide you with an idea of the talks that you may be able to attend on the day - please be aware that some details may change between now and April.
Thinking about going to university is one of the most important, and exciting choices you will ever have to make. Our talks tackle some of the key issues facing you over the coming year.
Where will you live? What choices do you have and how much will it all cost? Who can you turn to for help and advice at University? This talk covers the Cardiff guarantee for student accommodation and explores the range, quality and cost of residences on offer at Cardiff in addition to what support services are available at Cardiff.
What are tuition fees and who will be paying what and when? Where does your money come from, and how will you manage on a student budget? A practical look at how real students cope with their finances, highlighting some of the common pitfalls encountered by students (so that you can avoid them!). This talk is for undergraduate courses including Medicine and Dentistry.
What funding can you apply for and how do you apply for it? How much are tuition fees for NHS funded courses and how are they paid for? What additional funding could you be eligible for based on your personal circumstances? This talk explores student funding and looks at realistic budgeting to help students manage their income. Please note this session is designed for students of the schools of Healthcare Studies and Nursing & Midwifery. The main Student Finance talk (above) is most suitable for those interested in Medicine and Dentistry.
When an admissions tutor reads your application, what are they really looking for? Our insider’s guide to the application process will help you impress.
Students give you their views on life in Cardiff. Find out what the Students' Union has to offer you, what students do all day and what life is really like at one of the UK’s most popular universities from the people who really know.
Why do over 30,000 students apply to Cardiff University each year? This session will provide information about the new student facilities at Cardiff, what life in the capital city of Wales is really like and how our graduates can look forward to one of the highest graduate employment rates in the UK. Visiting students and parents, will have the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of university staff and students at the end of the talk.
This session will focus on recent developments at Cardiff University. Teachers and Career Advisers are welcome to ask questions about issues of interest to them, for example entry requirements, the UCAS application form, or the tuition fees situation in Wales.
This session focuses on graduate employment opportunities for our students after graduation. Come and find out what they go on to do after they leave Cardiff University.
