Transfers - Law

Transfers with credit from another Higher Education institution

Requests from students who have completed the first year of study at another Law School and who wish to join a programme at CArdiff LAw School at the beginning of the second year will be considered if the following criteria are met:

  • places must be available;
  • the programmes of study must be compatible;
  • students must meet Cardiff's entry requirements; and
  • there must be extenuating circumstances justifying the transfer.

Applications to join the final year of a programme at Cardiff Law School and applications to transfer mid-year will not be considered.

Transfer from another programme at Cardiff University

Applications for transfers from students wishing to transfer to the start of year 1 from other Schools within Cardiff University are considered where the applicant meets the entry requirements for the relevant degree scheme and is able to demonstrate motivation to study law.

Deferred Entry

The Law School is happy to make offers for deferred entry for up to a maximum of 12 months in line with the University’s policy and existing procedures. The same selection criteria will apply.
