Minimum Entry Requirements

GCSE

A minimum of Grade B in GCSE Mathematics and Grade C in GCSE English or an equivalent qualification.

A Level

Computer Science; Business Information Systems; Software Engineering; Computer Science with High Performance Computing; Computer Science with Security and Forensics:

ABB-AAB from three A-level subjects

Computer Science with Visual Computing:

ABB-AAB from three A-level subjects including Mathematics

Joint Honours Computing and Mathematics:

ABB-AAB to include an A in A-level Mathematics or Pure Mathematics

IRL

Computer Science; Business Information Systems; Software Engineering; Computer Science with High Performance Computing; Computer Science with Security and Forensics:

AAABBB

Computer Science with Visual Computing; Joint Honours Computing and Mathematics:

AAABBB at Higher Level with A in Mathematics.

IB

Computer Science; Business Information Systems; Software Engineering; Computer Science with High Performance Computing; Computer Science with Security and Forensics:

Obtain Diploma with an overall score of 33 points

Computer Science with Visual Computing:

Obtain Diploma with an overall score of 33 points with a 5/6 in Mathematics at Higher Level.

Joint Honours Computing and Mathematics:

Obtain Diploma with an overall score of 33 points with a minimum of 6 in Mathematics at Higher Level.

EB

Computer Science; Business Information Systems; Software Engineering; Computer Science with High Performance Computing; Computer Science with Security and Forensics:

Obtain Diploma with an average of 7.7.

Computer Science with Visual Computing:

Obtain Diploma with an average of 7.7 with 7.0 in Mathematics.

Joint Honours Computing and Mathematics:

Obtain Diploma with an average of 7.7 with 8.0 in Mathematics.

BTEC

Computer Science; Business Information Systems; Software Engineering; Computer Science with High Performance Computing; Computer Science with Security and Forensics:

Extended Diploma. Distinction*, Distinction*, Distinction*.

Computer Science with Visual Computing:

Extended Diploma in Engineering. Distinction*, Distinction*, Distinction*.

Joint Honours Computing and Mathematics:

Each applicant will be considered on his / her merit.

Welsh Baccalaureate

Computer Science; Business Information Systems; Software Engineering; Computer Science with High Performance Computing; Computer Science with Security and Forensics:

Grade A in the Core plus 2 A-levels at Grade BB-AA.

Computer Science with Visual Computing:

Grade A in the Core plus 2 A-levels at Grades BB-AA which must include Mathematics.

Joint Honours Computing and Mathematics:

Grade A in the Core with an A in A-level Mathematics and a B in another A-level subject.

Scottish Higher

Computer Science; Business Information Systems; Software Engineering; Computer Science with High Performance Computing; Computer Science with Security and Forensics:

AAABB

Computer Science with Visual Computing; Joint Honours Computing and Mathematics:

AAABB with A in Mathematics

Key Skills

Evidence of competence in Key Skills is welcomed, although success in the Key Skills qualification forms no part of the School's formal entry requirements.

Students with other qualifications or experience

Other qualifications or experience which may be considered to be equivalent to the above.

English Language Qualifications

Resit Candidates

Candidates with subjects to resit will have their applications considered without additional conditions attached.
