The Decision Process
Assessing your Application
Applications made for postgraduate programmes of study are processed by the Admissions Team at the University's Registry. Your application is forwarded to the Admissions Tutor for the particular degree programme of your choice for consideration, and their decision is notified to the Registry. The Registry then issues you with a formal decision letter notifying you of the outcome of your application.
For applicants who have used our new Online Application Service, decisions will also be notified via your online application account. For further details, please see the Online Application Service homepage.
This decision can take anything from two weeks to a few months, depending on what course you have applied for; decisions for Research Degree (MPhil or PhD) applications usually take the longest time.
Equal Opportunities
Cardiff University conducts its student recruitment, selection and assessment procedures on an equal opportunities basis. It is committed to ensuring that all applicants, students and employees are treated equally, regardless of their age, colour, race, ethnic or national origins, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family responsibilities, physical or sensory disabilities, or their political or religious beliefs.
