How to apply

If you would like to apply for the International Foundation Programme, simply complete the application form and send it to the English Language Programmes office at foundation@cardiff.ac.uk or:

If you want to make an application while you are waiting for a piece of information (e.g. a translation of your exam results or English Language test) you can do so, you must then send us the additional information when you receive it.

What should you include?

  • The completed application form, including personal statement, signature and date
  • Transcripts of school results so far, including subjects studied and grades achieved
  • Evidence of English language test results or state when you will sit the exam/receive the result
  • A copy of the photograph page of your passport which MUST include your passport number
  • Two academic references

All applicants who are offered a place on the IFP for Health & Life Sciences (September 2013 entry) with a view to progressing to a degree course in Medicine (September 2014 entry) will be required to apply through UCAS to meet the 15 October 2013 deadline whilst on the Foundation Programme. In addition, all applicants are required to take the national UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UK-CAT) during July-October 2013. Comprehensive information on this (including specimen test questions) can be found on the UKCAT website (www.ukcat.ac.uk).

Final decisions on applications received for the IFP for Health & Life Sciences for Medicine will be made in early July 2013.
