IELTS Application Procedure

How do I apply for the IELTS test?

It is advisable that candidates should submit their completed application forms as early as possible before the test date. Please check availability on the test dates page.

Applications by mail

• Download and print out the IELTS application form
• Read through the Information for Candidates
• Read through the Candidate Identity Verification document
• Complete the application form and attach:
  • two recent passport sized photos (please note that you should not be wearing glasses in the photos)
  • a copy of the photo page and the visa page of your passport / national identity card
  • a postal order to cover the test fee made payable to 'Cardiff University' OR a fully completed credit / debit card form which can be downloaded here
• The test fee for 2013 is £135.
• Send the completed application form, payment, two passport sized photos (no more than 6 months old) and a copy of the photo page and the visa page of your passport/national identity card to:

Applications in person

Instead of mailing your application you may wish to deliver it in person by bringing your completed application form and payment to the address above.

If you choose this method of application, you can also pay by cash or credit/debit card.
