Taiwan

Cardiff University has a long history of welcoming students from Taiwan. Our popular courses for Taiwanese students include Strategic Marketing, Logistics, MBA and other postgraduate business courses.

Cardiff University representatives travel to Taiwan each year, usually in the autumn and spring, and welcome applications at all levels.

Foundation courses

If you have graduated from the Taiwanese education system, you will be required to successfully complete a one year International Foundation Programme before entering Cardiff University's undergraduate programmes.

You will be required to successfully complete the Senior High School leaving certificate with grades of a B average to qualify for the International Foundation Programme.

Undergraduate courses

Cardiff University will consider students who either have the GCE A-level qualifications or the International Baccalaureate (IB) for entry on to undergraduate programmes.

If you hold the Senior High School Diploma with an average mark of 75%, and have completed a suitable foundation programme, you will be considered for admission to an undergraduate programme.

If you have a Junior College Diploma, you will also be considered for entry to the first or second year of our undergraduate programmes. Your previous academic performance and work experience will be taken into account by the admissions tutors.

Postgraduate taught courses

You will be required to have a good bachelor's degree (at a minimum of 70% or minimum GPA of 3.0) from a recognised institution, to be considered for postgraduate study at master's level.

Postgraduate research programmes

You will be considered for PhD study if you have a good master's degree from a recognised institution.

If you have completed a four year undergraduate degree (at a minimum of 70% or minimum GPA of 3.0), you may also be considered for entry to Cardiff University's postgraduate programmes.

English language

A relevant English language qualification is also required — normally a minimum of 6.5 IELTS or TOEFL 575 (230 CBT), however, this may vary from course to course.

If you are unsure of your qualifications or entry requirements please contact the International Office.

We visit Taiwan yearly. For more information about our upcoming visits, please contact: international@cardiff.ac.uk

When I first started getting in touch with Cardiff Law School, the staff were so friendly and gave me so much information about the school and the city.

I enjoy nights out with friends - locals and internationals. Living costs are relatively lower in comparison to many other places in the UK.

Cardiff Contact - Liz Anderton

Hi, my name is Liz and I'm the country manager for Taiwan.

I have recently joined the International Office but have spent a number of years both studying and working at Cardiff University.

I am very excited to begin travelling to Taiwan and I'm looking forward to learning more about your country. I hope to meet you at an event in the near future, but in the meantime please get in touch if you have any questions about studying or living in Cardiff - I'll be very happy to help.
