You can book an appointment to register with the Police at Cardiff University on Wednesdays or Mondays by using the online booking system:
You will be sent an automated email detailing the time and date of your appointment in the International Student Lounge on 3rd floor of the Students’ Union.
Your Police registration appointment will be with Mrs Karen Wolfendale, the Police Registration Officer. She will be registering students in the International Student Lounge on Monday and Wednesday, 9.00 – 14.45.
Normally appointments only take 20 minutes. Though this depends on the number of questions the police need to ask you and if you’ve completed the questionnaire correctly.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment time, so you should not have to wait too long.
Want priority? Make an appointment!People with appointments are given priority over those who do not have appointments. So if you turn up at the International Student Lounge in the Students' Union without an appointment, you will have to wait.
Please be patient, staff will try their very best to try to get you seen by the Police that same day.
Your police appointment is a very important and is a priority for you when you first arrive. In fact it is more important than attending any University classes or activities. This is because it is a legal immigration requirement of your entry into the UK. If you fail to register with the police you could be prosecuted and there will be a note put on your immigration record. This will negatively affect any future visa applications you may make to extend your stay in the UK.
