It is very important that you make every effort to plan to arrive at Cardiff University by Sunday 21 September at the very latest! If you do find yourself arriving after Sunday 21 September, then please download the information pack on the right hand side of this page so that you don't miss out on important updates!
If you arrive after Sunday 21 September, you will NOT be guaranteed University Accommodation, you will have missed the free airport pick up service and a lot of the induction events to help you make friends and settle into your new life in Cardiff.
For the majority of the students on taught courses, the latest date you can arrive at the University to start your course is Monday 13 October**.
BUT YOU MUST OBTAIN PERMISSION FROM YOUR ACADEMIC SCHOOL! Some Academic Schools do not allow you to start your course if you arrive as late as this because you will have missed 2 weeks of lectures (which will start on Monday 29 September) and important meetings about your course. If you arrive this late you will also have missed the School induction/enrolment meetings where you select any optional modules available to you on your course, receiving course information and meeting all your lecturers.
The UK Immigration Officers at all the UK airports will refuse you entry into the UK if you arrive 2 weeks after the latest start date of your course (as detailed on your CAS email). So if you are unable to get to the UK by this date, you should contact the international office to defer your entry on your course as you will not be able to attend this year. Email: email@example.com
**International Foundation Programme students latest start date is Monday 6 October and MSc In Advance Practice students latest start date is Monday 29 September.
Don’t worry if you missed the welcome and information talks. We’ve got the presentations here.
If you click on the resources on the right hand panel, you’ll find information on what you should be doing now you’ve arrived. You’ll get advice on how to get online and help with your computer, how to get work experience and where to register with the police or doctor.
If you have any other questions, please contact the International Office: firstname.lastname@example.org
