Welcome to Cardiff University and Cardiff Students' Union

The Welcome To Cardiff web pages are designed to provide you with a range of information, advice and contact details to help you settle into Cardiff University. If you ever need assistance there is a vast support network that can help. Hopefully, the relevant web pages will answer any queries you may have - or point you in the direction of whom to contact for further guidance in the University and Students' Union. More detailed information that will be useful throughout your time at Cardiff is provided in the online Student Handbook - again this can be accessed through the Welcome To Cardiff web page.
We hope you find the web page and linked information useful and easy to use. If you have any suggestions on how our pages can be improved or suggest further information that you would like to see included in the future do let us know.
Finally, may we wish you a successful year and sincerely hope you enjoy your time here at Cardiff.

Hello and welcome to Cardiff University.
Your Students' Union is one of the biggest and the best in the UK and students here in Cardiff are proud of the reputation we have gained, and now you're as much part of that as us! Your Union offers a vast range of opportunities from socialising and meeting other students and personal development to volunteering in the community and getting involved in student media. So find out about our 140 societies, 60 sports clubs, 4 Student-media outlets and over 30 Volunteering projects and make sure you don't regret missing out later!
Your Union should be the first place you think of for all your eating, drinking and clubbing needs. Grab lunch in The Kitchen, have a drink with your new mates in the Taf and finish in Solus – our 1900 capacity nightclub with four club nights a week. All are tailored to your needs and designed just for you!
Your Union is run by students for students; always with the vision of “Students First”. This means that you're always at the heart of everything we do.
Meet the team of 8 students that run your union, elected by students to represent you on a range of areas. Get involved at student council, or come along to our Annual General Meeting to have your views heard.
Finally, your Union also represents your views on national bases, and this year is set to be a difficult year for the higher education sector. You can get involved in our national campaigns too, so check out the website for information on all of the above: www.cardiffstudents.com
I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible, and I hope that your time in Cardiff will be the most memorable years of your life.
Marcus Coates-Walker
Students' Union President
