Cardiff University is one of Britain's leading technology institutions and a member of the prestigious Russell Group for its excellent research and the intensity of its links with business.
The University today continues a proud heritage begun in 1883 when the doors opened for 13 staff and 151 students and the church bells rang all day. Crowds of city businessemen and workers from the mining towns gathered on the public holiday to celebrate the fruition of their petitions and fundraising.
