Changes to my course or attendance at University
If I change course
If you transfer within Cardiff University your bursary will continue to be paid. However, this may delay a payment. If you transfer to another University you will be treated as withdrawing and your entitlement will cease immediately.
If I am on a placement year
Many placement students do not pay fees (e.g. Erasmus students) so will not meet eligibility criteria during their year abroad. If you pay half fees you will receive 50% of the bursary award, (which you would normally have been entitled to)for the duration of your placement year. Your bursary will continue as normal when you return to studies in the UK.
If I leave my course
Payments are made on condition that students are still enrolled at University. If a student withdraws from University, entitlement to a bursary award will cease immediately. If a student withdraws before a payment date, any award is void. The University reserves the right to reclaim any overpayment or incorrect bursary payments.
If I have to repeat a year
Your student funding body has authority to continue to pay you student support in a repeat year. In these circumstances you would still be eligible for a Cardiff University bursary.
If I go on leave of absence
You will only be entitled to a bursary if you are in attendance on the relevant payment date. Entitlement to a bursary will continue at the next attendance point you are present for.
