Third subject language study
22th May 2013
The School offers beginners and advanced courses in French, German, Italian, Hispanic Studies and Translation Studies that you can take as part of your degree in the first year, and which you can even continue on with, should you pass your first year in the language.
John Wastnage, head of employment and skills at the British Chambers of Commerce, sees the current lack of language skills amongst graduates as ‘potentially disastrous for our exporting potential in the future’, and CBI surveys have consistently rated languages as one of the skills most lacking amongst employees. Having studied a language at University level gives you a real employability advantage, as well as valuable communication skills.
So, why not choose a language this year?
