Bernard Emié the French Ambassador to the UK gave an interesting and inspiring talk on France, Britain and Europe in the School on 19 March. The Ambassador attended a welcome reception in the School where he met with Professor Claire Gorrara, Professor of French and Acting Head of School, Prof Alistair Cole, Director of Research, Politics, Prof Hywel Thomas, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Mr Richard Cotton, Director of the International Office and staff from the School. A number of students of French also attended the reception including a group from our Cardiff/Bordeaux degree scheme. The Ambassador was very interested in learning about this joint degree between Cardiff and Bordeaux and the experiences of our students.
