The Reardon Smith Theatre is located at the National Museum Cardiff.  On occasion Cardiff University book this theatre.  The accessibility information below is for Cardiff University staff and students using this venue.

Accessible Route

Access to the Reardon Smith Theatre is from the rear of the Visitor Car Park or via a level access pathway from Park Place and to the left (left picture above).

Facilities

The Reardon Smith is a fixed seating, tiered theatre.  There is a viewing platform with 6 designated spaces for wheelchair users and the theatre is fitted with an induction loop for people with a hearing impairment. Hearing aids should be set to position "T".

Emergency Evacuation

If the fire alarm goes off a Museum Assistant / Fire Marshal should clear the public and staff from the building.  The assembly point is the Visitors Car Park.

Accessible Toilets

Accessible toilets are situated in the Oriel Restaurant, on the lower ground floor of the Museum.  There is no direct route from the Reardon Smith to the Oriel Restaurant, therefore if you require or are aware that an attendee will require these facilities, please inform the University Room Booking Team in advance.  The University Room Booking Team will then arrange with the Museum for a suitable trained Museum Assistant to be on duty to provide assistance locating the accessible toilets.

For further information, please e-mail roombooking@cardiff.ac.uk, read the Procedure Manual (at the top right of this page) or visit the Room Booking web page
