Health Communication Research Centre (HCRC)
Director: Professor Srikant Sarangi MA MLitt PhD

The Health Communication Research Centre, established in August 1998 as an interdisciplinary initiative within Cardiff University, co-ordinates communication- and discourse-based research in the broad area of health and social care in Wales and beyond. It aims to consolidate existing links between researchers within the University of Wales, University of Wales College of Medicine and associated health and social care institutions.
The Centre's main priorities fall within Cardiff University's strategic plans for research: to develop new, joint research of academic excellence and practical relevance; to continue to promote interdisciplinary research in the spirit of the Partnership Board and to pursue further collaborative and complementary developments through generating external research funds.
The overall aim of the Centre is to "promote dialogues between interested and involved groups and to provide a dynamic and constructive voice in health communication research".
