Tolkien and Wales: A Celebration

J. R. R. Tolkien once wrote: ‘I love Wales … and especially the Welsh language’. At this event to launch a new book on Tolkien and Wales three scholars from
Welsh universities will explore some of the many connections between Tolkien’s
writings and Welsh language and literature. The talks will be followed by a
reception to celebrate the publication of Carl Phelpstead’s Tolkien and Wales:
Language, Literature and Identity.
The event is open to members of the public and anyone interested in Tolkien's writings or in Welsh language and literature is very welcome to attend. To book a free place at the event please email publicbookings@cardiff.ac.uk.
