Welsh Network of Modernist Studies
We will hold the inaugural meeting of the Welsh Network of Modernist Studies at the Alternative Modernisms conference on Wednesday 15 May 2013.
Inspired by the Scottish Network of Modernist Studies, the network will be an umbrella organisation which will bring together scholars studying modernism in Wales to facilitate better communication and collaboration. Initially, the aim is to establish a list of members and a mailing list which members could use to promote events in Wales, but it is hoped that the WNoMS will also organise and host events. Such events could be organised by members at their home institutions and then promoted under the WNoMS banner.
The network will not be limited to the study of Welsh modernism but obviously this will be an important element of the group.
To celebrate the launch of the new network, we are delighted to welcome Dr Daniel Williams (Swansea University) to deliver the inaugural Welsh Network of Modernist Studies Lecture. Dr Williams’s talk, entitled ‘Translation and Anglophone Welsh Modernism’, will take place on Wednesday 15 May between 6 and 6.45pm. For more information, please see our Keynotes page.
