‘Answers to Prayer in Chaucer: An Ambiguous Response to Human Tragedy’
In this thesis, I examine the effects of petitionary prayer in the works of Chaucer, exploring the ramifications of the unanswered or un-granted prayer in a context where literary supplication typically receives a divine response.
