Dr Huw Davies is Principal Investigator of the project, entitled "Superplumes, superpiles or superpuddings? Understanding the thermochemical dynamics of the mantle with waveform seismology". The work, awarded ~£380k, will test hypotheses for the dynamics of the mantle using waveform seismology. Co-Investigator Dr James Wookey (Univ. of Bristol) will lead the seismological aspects.
