Assessment Centre Cardiff

The assessment centre is a DSA-QAG accredited needs assessment centre where students/applicants applying for DSA can be assessed and advised with regards to support for their University studies. The assessment centre has a fully equipped assessment rooms located within the University campus at the Cathays campus.

The assessment centre is fully accessible to students with mobility difficulties and the campus can be accessed via car, train or bus. Further accessibility arrangements can also be made, please contact us with any other accessibility needs.

 

To make an appointment

Contact the assessment centre to make an appointment, you can call 029 2087 9127, email dsaadmin@cardiff.ac.uk, write or call into the Student Support Centres.

The assessment centre is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm and needs assessments can be carried out at 4.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

We aim to offer an appointment within 15 working days and can often offer you an appointment sooner than that dependent on the time of year.

The Assessment Centre Cardiff is located on the ground floor of the Student Support Centre, 50 Park Place, CF10 3AT.

There is level access along Park Place with dropped kerbs at the road crossings. There is ramped access into the Student Support Centre. For more information on accessibility at the Student Support Centre, please click here.

GENERAL TRAVEL INFORMATION

Train

The closest train station is Cathays station which is located just behind the Student Support Centre.Arriva Trains Wales run a frequent service to this station from Cardiff Central station and Pontypridd. Bus

Bus services 36, 51, 86 and 95 run from the City Centre and stop on Park Place. For more information, see the Cardiff Bus website:http://www.cardiffbus.com/.

Car

Driving from the M4 (Westbound):Leave the motorway at Junction 29 to join the A48.Continue on the A48 until you see signs for the A470 (City Centre/M4). Take the slip road off the A48 still following signs for the A470/City Centre. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit towards the City Centre to join the A470. Leave the A470 at Colum Road. Continue along Colum Road to join Park Place. The Student Support Centre will be on the left-hand side, opposite the University Security office.

Driving from the M4 (Eastbound): Leave the motorway at Junction 32. Take the 4th exit at the roundabout to join the A470 to Cardiff. Leave the A470 at Colum Road. Follow Colum Road to join Park Place. The Student Support Centre will be on the left-hand side, opposite the University Security office.

Parking: There are generally parking spaces available on the side of the road just outside the centre. These spaces are Pay and Display. Please take care topay for sufficient time to cover the length of your appointment (note: Needs Assessment appointments can take up to two hours). Blue Badge holders can park here free of charge. There are designated Blue Badge parking areas along Park Place.
