Who does a higher degree at the School of Dentistry?
Dental and Medical graduates and Allied Health professions, Biological Scientists, Chemists, Computational Scientists and Mathematicians, Statisticians, Epidemiologists, Social Scientists, Psychologists.
Studentships available
We regularly have a limited number of competitively sought PhD studentships funded by charities and trusts, which are advertised via the University Website.
Studentships usually offer a stipend and University Fees for UK / EU students. International students may apply but will be required to pay the difference in International fees.
Speculative Applications
We also welcome speculative applications with agreed funding which covers for appropriate University Fees. For some research projects School Bench fees are also requested to help cover the costs of associated consumables or travel. We offer both Full-time and Part-time programmes of study.

Start Dates
We have four start dates throughout the year; 1 October, 1 January, 1 April, 1 July.
Applications should be made 8-6 weeks before a start date, particularly if visa requirements need to be arranged.
How to apply
All formal applications must be made via the University Standard application process. Speculative enquiries may also be made approaching research staff as potential supervisor to discuss possible projects or studentships available.
Applications may be made any time throughout the year.
