Richard joined the school at the beginning of 2010 following a career in transport planning in London, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire. At Transport for London he worked in the Land Use Planning department, providing advice to the Mayor of London on major planning applications. He was also involved in policy development which included work on the London Plan and Mayor's Transport Strategy. His teaching is focused on planning practice and his specialisms include the interaction between transport and development, travel plans and travel behaviour and transport governance. He currently teaches on the undergraduate module - Transport Planning and Travel Behaviour and postgradute modules - Sustainable Transport and Transport and the City.
