Depression, Anger, Mood Change
How can we help?
Counselling can help you to understand what has led you to feel the way you feel, and support you in finding more effective ways to cope, or even perhaps change how you live your life in a more positive way.
We all have periods in our lives where we feel like we are struggling with our mood, and not feeling in control of how we feel and how we are behaving. This could be for many reasons; something has suddenly happened to add stress to your life (leaving home and coming to university), or too many things have occurred in a short period (end of a relationship, course/exam pressure, family illness or bereavement, lost of a job), or gradually built up over months or even years. Perhaps you have realised that you have felt low and experienced symptoms of depression for many years, or that the difficulty you have controlling your anger is starting to have more obvious negative consequences on your life and relationships.
For some people they can see a clear reason to explain the change in their mood, and can understand what has happened in their life to lead them to struggle with depression or anger. For others it can be frustratingly perplexing and confusing, adding to the initial feelings.
