Overview
In 2006, a prestigious EPSRC Platform Grant
was funded in the area of polymer therapeutics to enable
key members of staff from five
partner institutions (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Oxford
and King’s College, London) to pursue adventuous
cross-discipline nanotechnology based research projects
with which
to nucleate
collaborations between chemists,
biologists,
optometrists,
clinicians
and pharmacists.
Next generation polymer
therapeutics are being developed
for specific disease targets namely,
arthritis, diseases
of the eye and
cancer.
