The Logistics and Operations Management Section comprises the transport and shipping, logistics systems dynamics, and lean enterprise elements of Cardiff Business School. It is one of the largest groupings of academic staff in this subject area in the UK and is highly active in terms of research output, postgraduate teaching, and postgraduate research. The combination of skills on offer makes the Section an attractive location for students to pursue their doctoral studies over a wide range of specialist areas. A number of Research Groups and Units are to be found within the Section and while these provide a focal point for academics and students with similar research interests they also provide opportunities for cross-fertilization of ideas and the promotion of synergies. Faculty from the section regularly publish in the following international journals: International Journal of Operations and Production Management; International Journal of Production Economics; OMEGA - the international journal of management science; European Journal of Operational Research; Journal of Operations Management; Transportation Research - Part E; Marine Policy; Maritime Policy and Management; International Journal of Logistics - Research and Applications, and Maritime Economics and Logistics.
