Research Overview
My primary interest is in the application of laser scanning confocal microscopy, and other high resolution imaging techniques, to a diverse range of highly oriented/organised connective tissues (e.g. intervertebral disc, tendon, cornea, cartilage) and tissue engineered constructs with the aims of (1) better understanding their macromolecular composition and organisation (2) elucidating the cellular developmental mechanisms involved in their histogenesis and (3) gaining insights into potential strategies for their repair/improvements in repair.
