Responsibilities
Anna Carlsson-Hyslop is working as a Research Associate in the Historical Analysis Workstream of the Transition Pathways project with Peter Pearson. For more on this project, please see http://www.lowcarbonpathways.org.uk. Early in 2011 she finished her PhD at the Centre for History of Science, Technology and Medicine at the University of Manchester. Her PhD was a historical study of the statistical forecasting of coastal flooding done by mathematicians and oceanographers at the Liverpool Tidal Institute between 1919 and 1959. As an undergraduate she studied Geography at Bristol University. She then studied History and Philosophy of Science for her Masters at Leeds and has also worked with social research and as a transport planner.

Research Interests
The links between history and policy. Environmental history, especially energy and weather-related. History of oceanography and other earth sciences. Practices of mathematics, especially statistics. Combining historical and quantitative analysis.
